Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Product Marketing Budget Associate Manager to oversee day-to-day budget governance for the Applications Product Marketing team. You’ll partner with PMMs, Finance, and Procurement to optimize resource allocation, forecasting, and procurement workflows.

You’ll build dashboards, run monthly reconciliations, and drive standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, while providing executive-level reporting and actionable insights across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing operations, financial analysis, budget management, or business operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Experience with enterprise procurement/ERP software (SAP, Coupa, Oracle, Anaplan) and reporting tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Excellent cross-functional coordination, problem-solving, attention to detail, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting for the Applications Product Marketing organization.
  • Monitor spend against targets, identify variances and re-allocation opportunities.
  • Lead annual and quarterly financial planning cycles with models and templates.
  • Direct PIRs, vendor contracts, POs, and invoices to prevent delays.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations with Finance to maintain accruals and ledger integrity.
  • Build dashboards and executive reports translating financial data into insights.

Product Marketing Budget Associate Manager
Role Summary

The Product Marketing Budget Associate Manager leads day-to-day financial operations and budget governance for the Applications Product Marketing team. This role bridges marketing strategy and financial execution, ensuring optimal resource allocation, accurate forecasting, and seamless procurement. You will serve as the core operational partner to Product Marketing Managers (PMMs), Finance, and Procurement, driving fiscal discipline while streamlining cross-functional workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Budget Management & Forecasting
  • Own end-to-end budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting for the Applications Product Marketing organization.
  • Monitor real-time spend against planned targets, proactively identifying variances, risks, and re-allocation opportunities.
  • Lead annual and quarterly financial planning cycles by developing models, consolidating team inputs, and preparing decision-ready templates.
Procurement & Workflow Execution
  • Direct the lifecycle of Purchase/Invoice Requests (PIRs), working directly with PMMs to ensure timely submission and swift approval routing.
  • Actively track and unblock stalled PIRs, vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices to prevent project delays or budget forfeit.
  • Perform monthly financial reconciliations in partnership with Finance to maintain accurate accruals and ledger integrity.
Executive Reporting & Process Optimization
  • Build and maintain dynamic dashboards and executive reports that translate complex financial data into concise, strategic insights.
  • Continuously audit and optimize budget tracking systems, tools, and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial requests to train and onboard team members on procurement protocols.
Cross-Functional & Project Support
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing, Finance, and Procurement to resolve discrepancies and align spend with strategic priorities.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and lightweight project management support for broader marketing initiatives as capacity allows.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in marketing operations, financial analysis, budget management, or business operations.
  • Financial Literacy: Proven capability in managing large operational budgets, variance analysis, purchase order lifecycles, and forecasting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, pivot tables, financial modeling); experience with enterprise procurement/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Oracle, Anaplan) and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) is a plus.
  • Core Competencies: Strong cross-functional coordination, assertive problem-solving, high attention to detail, and clear executive communication skills.
  • Bonus: Project management experience (Agile, Asana, Monday.com) or familiarity with product marketing organization structures.
