Job summary

TaylorMade is seeking a Product Manufacturing Engineer to lead industrialization of new golf ball designs, coordinating with Asia-Pacific sites from prototype to commercialization. You will troubleshoot production issues, drive cost/quality/speed/yield improvements, and report data to management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with global vendors to align specs, timelines, and project direction.
• Coordinate tooling, prototypes, and first article builds through evaluation and testing.
• Support manufacturing execution to meet performance, conformance, quality, and cost targets using SPC data.
• Own manufacturing readiness timelines for new product launches and qualification milestones.
• Generate test data reports and summaries for Engineering Management.
• Develop and manage controlled documents/specifications for new product designs and processes.
• Process Engineering Changes and documentation updates through controlled channels.
• Evaluate test equipment design and QC/QA inspection processes.
• Support Continuous Improvement across production processes and test methods.
• Drive supply chain Continuous Improvement projects to reduce cost and defects.
• Ensure data integrity across supplier and internal test labs.
• Collaborate across functions on new product launches.

About the Role

The Product Manufacturing Engineer will lead industrialization activities of new golf ball designs, partnering with manufacturing sites in Taiwan, South Korea, and other Asia-Pacific countries from prototype to commercialization. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, driving cost/quality/speed/yield improvements, and reporting test data and summarized results to management and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication (e-mail, video conference, etc.) with global vendors to align specs, timelines, and project direction.
• Coordinate tooling, prototypes, and first article builds through evaluation and testing.
• Support manufacturing execution to ensure products meet performance, conformance, quality, and cost targets through statistical process control data and charts.
• Own manufacturing readiness timelines for new product launches, driving tooling, first-article, and qualification milestones to meet product launch dates.
• Generate test data reports and summaries for Engineering Management supporting supplier and R&D development activities.
• Work cross-functionally to develop, manage, and distribute accurate and controlled documents / specifications for new product designs and manufacturing processes.
• Process Engineering Changes and documentation updates through controlled channels.
• Evaluate and contribute to the design of test equipment, set-up/test procedures, and QC/QA inspection processes.
• Support Continuous Improvement efforts across production processes, qualifications, test methods, and test equipment.
• Drive supply chain Continuous Improvement projects designed to reduce cost and defective rates.
• Ensure component measurement and data integrity across supplier and internal test labs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Product Creation, Product Design, Sourcing, Research & Development, Operations, and Supplier Manufacturing teams) on new product launches.
• Perform other related responsibilities and assignments as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Demonstrated organisation skills, the ability to work accurately with substantial amounts of data and details, and the ability to multi-task effectively with periodic supervision and direction.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable coordination of projects within departments at TaylorMade, with outside consultants, and with overseas suppliers.
• Capable of efficiently integrating new innovations into existing test methods and processes.
• Ability to take initiative to drive projects forward and work with all levels of the organisation.
• Knowledge in principles of test equipment and methods, experimentation, manufacturing documentation, and design control.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify production and equipment problems; recommend and implement appropriate solutions using sound engineering practices.
• Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• M.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline OR B.S. with 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing / engineering environment.
• Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Process Optimization, 6-Sigma, and/or experience with manufacturing.
• Experience working on individual and team projects with successful results.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge and experience in injection molding manufacturing and tooling.
• Knowledge of cosmetic finishing processes including Painting, Ink Stamping, and Surface Preparation.
• Knowledge of Engineering Statistics and use of SPC software (GainSeeker).
• Experience in the Golf/Sporting Goods industry.

Workplace

• Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.
• Exposure to laboratory environment with equipment dust and noise.
• Domestic/International travel required (up to 3x per year for a 2-week duration).
• Ability to work extended hours, as necessary.
• Physically able to lift 25 lbs., bend, stoop, reach, and perform non-routine tasks as required.
