Responsibilities

The Water Controls Product Manager (PM) will help drive Orenco Systems and Infiltrator Water Technology's industry leadership position in the Onsite Wastewater market by identifying and developing new alarm and control products that enhance the company wastewater systems and standalone alarm and control offerings. The PM is the expert for the water controls product category with a complete understanding of the functional applications, value propositions and manages the category life-cycle.

This Water Controls Product Manager reports to the Director of Product Management in Sutherlin, OR.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and execute market research projects to establish voice of the customer, segment the market, and target areas of innovation and growth to gain market share to become the industry leader
• Communicate the needs of the market with internal engineering/R&D team to develop innovative differentiated offerings that cause customers to choose our products
• Continuously review the cost position and margin returns for assigned products and work with manufacturing to ensure target costs positions and availability are maintained
• Provide formal and informal product training to sales associates and other stakeholders
• Develop and maintain detailed product plans for assigned products including target markets, value proposition, technical details and marcomm plans
• Be the expert in the product category to support field sales activities such as:
• product demonstrations and promotions
• product training including functional, installation and operational training
• technical support for field issues
• performance verification testing
• Attend industry trade shows where products are showcased to help convey value to tradeshow attendees and give presentations to ensure industry leadership
• Support the development of product documents and marketing assets
• Work closely with the internal sales, marketing, finance, government relations, technical services, engineering, and manufacturing teams on product launch plans to execute on the business strategy
• Product Quality Case Review - Coordinates the research of product quality issues received in the department and identifies issues.
• Prioritizes product cases that have been identified as design-related to bring to the joint Engineering/Manufacturing team
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support remotely or in the field for products they manage.
• Able to work in the field with customers and sales staff to provide training and support.

EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge and understanding of the onsite wastewater industry
• Knowledge and understanding of motor control and monitoring systems
• Experience or understanding of regulated business environments
• Experience in a market driven product environment
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
• Proven track record of planning and prioritizing target-based business goals
• Must have experience working closely with customers in a technical environment

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Marketing field or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years' work experience preferably in one of the following areas, product management role, an advanced technical support or engineering role, or an advanced sales leadership role
• Ability to travel approximately 10%-25%
• Ability to learn new products quickly
