Job summary

Genuine Parts Company (GPC) is seeking a Manager, Product Team within the Supply Chain Technology group to drive next-generation warehouse and fulfillment technology. You will own the product roadmap, partner with operations and IT, and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver scalable WMS solutions across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field required.
  • 8+ years of technical Product Manager/Business Systems Analyst experience in enterprise Supply Chain/WMS environments, with 10+ preferred.
  • Strong understanding of WMS/WES/WCS, labor, and fulfillment automation.
  • Experience mapping Source to Target integrations for complex retail/supply chain apps.
  • Ability to build and optimize global product roadmaps based on business value.
  • Proven ability to influence in a large, matrixed organization.

  • Develop a complete vision for new/changed features including performance metrics.
  • Maintain global product roadmaps for Warehouse Management products and related systems.
  • Propose tradeoffs and adjust roadmaps as needed.

Position Purpose

Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as the Manager, Product Team of the Supply Chain Technology team, building the next generation Supply Chain technology products and services at GPC. Working with an incredibly talented team, you will play a key role in building and running one of the world's largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations. The Product Manager-WMS is a key member of the GPC Supply Chain Product Management team, championing the strategy and roadmap planning for the Supply Chain and Fulfillment capabilities. Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right products and features for our customers and business. To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment. The Product Manager in this role must have a strong background in Warehouse Management (WMS, WES, WCS), Inventory Management, Labor Management and Fulfillment Automation including experience implementing Material Handling Equipment (MHEs) in warehouses.

Responsibilities
  • Regularly collaborate with Business to identify and define new capability requirements and sequencing based on business value
  • Develops a complete vision for a new or changing feature, including how it will perform, how performance will be measures, and how it will continue to evolve
  • Maintain Global Product Roadmaps for Warehouse Management Products, including introduction of new products as proofs of concept, upgrading from old to new product and divesting of products at end of life
  • Make proposals that consider exciting tradeoffs - such as, between the needs of different customer types, or critical metrics
  • Ability to identify when functionality does not have desired affect and adjust roadmaps, expectations and plans appropriately
  • Consistently lead cross-functional, cross-Geography partner communication, including operations and business process impacts/ value adds of features updates
  • Mentor and develop junior product management talent
  • Work with significant degree of autonomy
  • Other duties as assigned
Location
  • GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.
  • We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8 years (10+ preferred) of professional experience as a Technical Product Manager/ Business Systems Analyst supporting enterprise Supply Chain/ Warehouse Management Systems
  • Proficiency in Supply Chain processes and technology, in Fulfillment (ex. Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, Yard Management Systems)
  • Ability to build and optimize global product roadmaps based on business value
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, successfully influencing others and establishing relationships
  • Proven record of accomplishment of implementing W*S (WMS/WEC/WCS) solutions at scale, preferably in Retail/e-Commerce space
  • Experience with "Source to Target" mapping for integration work between WMS and complex enterprise retail/ supply chain applications
  • Good understanding of Retail, Distribution and Transportation domain
  • Proficiency in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design, and development team
  • Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting epics and user stories
  • Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs
  • Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Proficiency in active listening and communicating at all levels
  • Experience with Jira or Confluence
