Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered global leader in brokerage infrastructure, seeks a Senior Product Manager to drive growth across the direct channel—from core Trading API products to Alpaca Connect / Marketplace. You will define and ship initiatives that deepen developer and trader engagement, expand the partner ecosystem, and grow trading volume and revenue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, STEM, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Trading, or building a product of your own.
• Deep passion for trading, markets, and financial products.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL.
• Sharp business acumen balancing user experience, stakeholder needs, feasibility and resources.
• Strategic thinker with focus on immediate problems and long-term goals.
• Highly self-driven with exceptional communication to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape the Alpaca Connect / Marketplace roadmap: onboarding, discovery, OAuth/consent, and platform utilities.
• Drive Trading API product strategy by understanding customer needs, ROI, market competition, and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Define and own product requirements with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time.
• Own product metrics using data analytics to measure success and identify opportunities.
• Guide go-to-market strategy with marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations to drive adoption and revenue growth.
• Drive Trading API growth—acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization through funnel optimization and experiments.
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects as business needs evolve.

Your Role:

Our Trading API product team at Alpaca is looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive growth across Alpaca’s direct channel — from core Trading API products to Alpaca Connect / Marketplace, our ecosystem for third-party apps and partners. In this role, you will define and ship product initiatives that deepen developer and trader engagement, expand the partner ecosystem, and grow trading volume and revenue, while closely collaborating with engineering, design, data, marketing, partnerships, operations, and other cross-functional teams across Alpaca.

Your Responsibilities:

• Shape the Alpaca Connect / Marketplace roadmap: self-service partner onboarding and approval, app discovery and distribution, OAuth / consent experiences, and platform utilities that help partners get found, adopted, and scaled
• Help drive Trading API product strategy by deeply understanding customer and partner needs and behaviors, analyzing ROI, assessing market competition, and evaluating build-vs-buy opportunities
• Define and own product requirements, partnering with engineering, design, operations, data, partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time
• Own product metrics by leveraging data analytics to measure success, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
• Guide go-to-market strategy and execution, partnering with marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations to drive product adoption, activation, retention, and revenue growth
• Drive Trading API growth— acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization — by deep-diving the user funnel, removing friction, optimizing conversion, and running experiments that move trading volume and revenue
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects and initiatives as business needs evolve

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

• Excited about what Alpaca is building
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, STEM, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Trading, or building a product of your own
• Deep passion for trading, markets, and financial products
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL
• Sharp business acumen, with the ability to balance user experience, stakeholder needs, technical feasibility, and resource constraints
• Strategic thinker who can zoom in on solving immediate problems while keeping long-term company goals in mind
• Highly self-driven, with exceptional communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves:)

• Experience building or scaling trading platforms, brokerage products, developer platforms, or integration marketplaces
• Hands-on experience with algorithmic trading
• Technical background with experience working with APIs or partner ecosystems
