Job summary

Helmerich and Payne seeks a Product Manager to define customer-centric solutions and drive alignment across engineering, operations, and sales. You will own product maturation from ideation through retirement, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure business value and competitive differentiation.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and documentation skills, with a preference for PM and oil/gas industry experience.

• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience; degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver solutions that solve customers’ problems and provide business value to H&P.
• Manage multiple products and timelines.
• Be the voice of the customer; define product/market fit and align the organization on the vision.
• Own product maturation from ideation to retirement with key stakeholders.
• Compile, document, and revisit business cases for each solution.
• Maintain understanding of competitive landscape.
• Model market share and EBITDA projections with Sales and Operations.
• Review product specs and propose new product ideas or changes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Development, and Engineering to deploy scalable solutions.
• Monitor market conditions and adjust portfolio vision as needed.

At a Glance

The Product Manager is the person responsible for defining the solution that satisfies the H&P product/market fit. The individual then works with the engineering team to build it, the operations team to support it, and the sales team to sell it; being the voice of the customer to communicate the strategy to all key stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the product.

What You Will Do

• Define and deliver solutions to our customers that solve customers’ problems & provide business value to H&P
• Manage multiple products and timelines
• Be the voice of the customer, define the product/market fit, and align the organization on the vision of the product
• Own product acceleration and the progression of products through H&P’s product maturation process from ideation to retirement, engaging key stakeholders and departments company-wide
• Compile, document, and routinely revisit business cases for each solution
• Maintain understanding of competitive landscape
• Work with Sales and Operations to perform market research to build out models for potential market share and incremental EBITDA projections
• Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements- appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
• Work with Operations, Development, and Engineering to define and execute plans to support the deployment and scalability of solutions
• Continually monitor market conditions to proactively revise portfolio vision based on evolving market, customer demands, and opportunity for differentiation

What You Will Need

• Bachelors' Degree or equivalent of experience and education (BS in Engineering preferred)
• Ability to demonstrate and embody the characteristics of being humble, hardworking, and a team player.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills and be someone who demonstrates being an active listener.
• Ability to solve difficult problems creatively.
• Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
• Ability to work across organizational teams and help build relationships.
