Job summary

Apptronik in Austin, TX seeks a Product Manager for Perception and Navigation to drive the product vision across hardware and software, translating market needs into executable roadmaps for autonomous systems.

You will own perception stack requirements, guide evaluation metrics, coordinate with sensing and compute teams, and ensure delivery of valuable, safe perception features that enable scalable Apollo deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience.
• Experience with autonomous robots or autonomous vehicles.
• Experience with perception or autonomy evaluation frameworks and large-scale field-test data analysis.
• Experience generating or using synthetic data for perception.
• Experience with data collection operations (teleoperation fleets, annotation and curation pipelines).
• Experience with robotics and functional safety standards (ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 13482, RIA 15.08).

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the perception and navigation software roadmap across detection, tracking, localization, mapping, and obstacle avoidance.
• Drive the technical definition of the perception stack and translate sensor inputs into scene understanding.
• Define evaluation metrics and field-testing regimes for perception and navigation.
• Own requirements for perception data pipelines including collection and labeling.
• Lead product requirements for safe perception and autonomy risk.
• Co-design within the compute envelope with sensing and compute teams.
• Define and prioritize use cases based on business value and customer needs.
• Ensure alignment with real-world economic value for customers.
• Synthesize user research, customer feedback, and sales input into strategic roadmaps.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to implement interactive features for customers.
