Job summary

Modisoft in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a Product Manager, Payments to lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of our payment products. You’ll own initiatives from concept through launch—covering processing, EBT, Tap to Pay, payment links, banking services, and other digital solutions—while collaborating with engineering, operations, support, processors, and banking partners.

• 1–3+ years of experience in Product Management, Payments, FinTech, SaaS, POS, retail technology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and business teams.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Support, Sales, Finance, or similar teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or other LLMs
• Comfortable working with external vendors and technology partners.
• Willingness and ability to travel for customer and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and priorities for Modisoft’s payments ecosystem, including card payments, EBT, Tap to Pay, payment links, banking, and other financial products.
• Manage payment products and features from concept, requirements, development, testing, certification, rollout, and ongoing improvement.
• Translate business goals, merchant needs, and customer feedback into clear product requirements and user stories.
• Work directly with payment processors, acquiring partners, banks, payment networks, hardware providers, and other third-party partners.
• Help manage payment integrations across POS, mobile, online, and other Modisoft products.
• Monitor payment performance, transaction trends, customer feedback, support issues, and product adoption to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development and expansion of products such as EBT, contactless payments, Tap to Pay, payment links, digital wallets, and banking services.
• Ensure strong documentation, requirements, testing plans, and stakeholder alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
• Communicate roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and product updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Stay informed on payment technology trends, competitive offerings, and changing customer needs.
• Travel as needed for customer visits, partner meetings, trade shows, and product implementations.

Role

We’re seeking a Product Manager, Payments to help lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Modisoft’s payment products and capabilities.

You’ll own payment initiatives from concept through launch, including payment processing, EBT, Tap to Pay, payment links, banking and financial services, digital payments, and other emerging payment solutions.

This role will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Support, payment processors, banking partners, and other third-party providers to ensure Modisoft delivers payment experiences that are reliable, easy to use, scalable, and valuable to our customers.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple payment initiatives and external partners in a fast-moving environment.

• Familiarity with EBT/SNAP, contactless payments, Tap to Pay, digital wallets, payment links, or embedded banking products.
• Experience working with payment APIs and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with product development tools such as Jira
• Experience using transaction and product data to guide decision-making.
• Experience in convenience retail, grocery, restaurant, or broader retail technology is a plus.
