Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a Product Manager to join our News Product mission in NYC. You will collaborate with editors, designers, engineers and analysts to evolve storytelling formats, surfaces and experiences, with a focus on growing weekly usage of our comment section.

You will define a roadmap, translate ideas into tangible tasks, and lead ceremonies while building strong partnerships across teams. This NYC-based hybrid role requires in-office presence two days a week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead team ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retros) and promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven team culture
  • Develop collaborative relationships with partners in Engineering, Design, Data, Project Management, Audience Insights, and the Newsroom
  • Monitor product performance, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights, and using findings to inform product iterations
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Mission Overview & Responsibilities :

The New York Times is looking for a Product Manager to join our News Product mission. This team works with our newsroom to innovate across storytelling formats, surfaces and experiences and the tools that power them.

As a Product Manager, you’ll support product development across a range of editorially grounded initiatives. You’ll partner with editors, designers, engineers, and analysts to evolve how we inform and engage our readers. You will have a specific focus on growing weekly usage of our comment section.

This is a NYC-based, hybrid role. You can expect to go into the office two days a week.

Basic Qualifications :

The annual base pay range for this role is between:

$104,000—$125,000 USD
