Job summary

OPEN MIND is seeking an experienced Product Manager (m/f/d) to lead CAM feature development for 2.5D, 3-axis, and 5-axis machining, from discovery to market launch.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, applications, marketing and sales to shape product strategy and ensure a seamless user experience within the hyperMILL ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Extensive CAM and manufacturing expertise.
  • Several years of professional experience in CAM, machining, or product management.
  • Experience with development, validation, and market launch of technical product solutions.
  • Fluent in German and English; great communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Customer needs analysis and market validation for 2.5D, 3-axis, and 5-axis machining.
  • Support product development from discovery to market launch of new features.
  • Define product strategy and prioritize requirements.
  • Validate concepts through customer feedback and field testing.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, applications, support, marketing, and sales.
  • Ensure integration of new features with the overall hyperMILL concept and meet defined goals.

For our product management team, we are seeking an experienced Product Manager (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible, with a strong understanding of machining processes and 2.5D, 3-axis, and 5-axis machining.

  • Customer Needs Analysis and Market Validation:
    Identification, prioritization, and validation of customer requirements, market potential, and technological opportunities in the field of 2.5D, 3-axis, and 5-axis machining
  • Product Lifecycle Management:
    Supporting product development from problem definition and discovery through design to the successful market launch of new features and solutions
  • Product Strategy and Prioritization:
    Evaluating requirements in terms of customer benefit, technical feasibility, and strategic relevance, as well as actively shaping product strategy
  • Validation and Risk Management:
    Validating new concepts and solutions through customer feedback, field testing, and structured risk analyses
  • Stakeholder and Interface Management:
    Collaborating with development, QA, application engineering, support, marketing, and sales to ensure consistent and successful product development
  • Product Integration and Accountability for Goals:
    Ensuring the consistent integration of new features in terms of user experience, product strategy, and the overall hyperMILL concept, as well as taking responsibility for achieving defined product goals and the sustainable improvement of customer value
Your profile
  • Extensive CAM and manufacturing expertise:
    In-depth knowledge of machining and a thorough understanding of CAM processes, CNC machines, control systems, tools, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in product management:
    Several years of professional experience in CAM, machining, or product management, as well as experience in the development, validation, and market launch of technical product solutions
  • Analytical and structured approach to work:
    Confident assessment of requirements, risks, and priorities, as well as the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and understandable manner
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills:
    Confident interaction with customers, interdisciplinary teams, and stakeholders
  • Customer focus and decision-making authority:
    Strong quality awareness, strategic thinking, and sound decision-making even under uncertain conditions
  • Methodological and software expertise:
    Experience with product discovery methods, prioritization techniques, use case modeling, Microsoft 365, and at least one CAM system, as well as, ideally, knowledge of agile product development methods, pilot projects, and beta testing
  • Language Skills:
    Very good German and English skills for communicating technical content in a way tailored to the target audience
