Product Manager II, YouTube Generative AI Security

Location: San Bruno, CA, USA

Level: Mid – Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management, including taking technical consumer products from conception to launch.
  • 2 years of experience developing AI and Security technologies to define technical product features.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • Experience in security, AI/ML, risk management and anti-abuse prevention.
  • Understanding of the evolving landscape of security risks in the AI context including agentic workflows.
  • Excellent partnership skills, with the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes stakeholder environments.

Increasingly YouTube features leverage Generative AI as a backbone (including Search with Ask on Search). In this role, you will define the risk principles for all of YouTube. You will then build defense‑in‑depth strategy and build the systems, tools, process to systematically mitigate.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163,000 – $237,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

  • Collaborate with Research and Engineering to deliver AI‑powered security features that anticipate rapidly evolving cyber threats to defend YouTube including Ask on Search, and Ask on Watch.
  • Lead the team through defining, identifying, collecting, and tracking appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative for new or existing products.
