Job summary

A data governance solutions provider is seeking a mid-senior level Data Governance Specialist to facilitate business processes and data quality management. The role involves creating data quality rules, collaborating with IT, and presenting findings to senior leadership. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of product data flows. This contract position is fully onsite in Dallas, TX, or Pleasanton, CA.

Position: Data Governance Specialist

Job Type: W2 Contract

Work Model: Fully onsite (5 days/week)

Location: Eitherin Dallas, TX or Pleasanton, CA or San Francisco, CA (must currently reside in one of these areas)

Preferred shift is 8am to 4pm PST

Job Description

This is a business facing role - a process, policy, procedure’s role. Data governance, talking to the business, understanding the business process challenges, and coming up with solutions. Must create data quality rules and guidelines. Work with corresponding technical product managers and IT closely. Conducting many presentations with senior leadership and regular weekly touch bases with them.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data stewardship or data governance role
• Retail industry experience
• Strong understanding of product and customer data, processes, systems, and data flows within a merchandising environment
• Previous hands‑on experience in data quality management and data governance tools like Collibra, Alation etc.
• Knowledge of product hierarchy structures within stores as well as eComm sites
• Leadership presence with the ability to present in front of C‑Suite
• Ability to analyze data and extrapolate knowledge to make strong recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Stibo PIM and Profisee product master data tools is preferred but not required
