Job description

About this opportunity

Zumper is evolving how we use data and intelligence to power our B2B solutions, and we’re looking for a mid-level Product Manager to help shape that work. You’ll partner with Data & Analytics leadership and our Product, Engineering, and Design teams to turn renter demand signals, property insights, and market intelligence into capabilities that help our customers make better decisions and improve their marketing performance.

You’ll translate customer and business needs into clear requirements, prioritize data initiatives, and bring insights into product development and experimentation. It’s a highly cross-functional, highly visible opportunity to shape how Zumper’s data becomes customer value — and a great fit for a product manager who loves data or an analyst who has gravitated toward product.

This role reports to our VP, Product.

What you’ll do
  • Talk with customers (and the Sales and Customer Success teams who know them best) to understand the decisions they face, then translate those needs into clear, well-scoped requirements for Data & Analytics, Engineering, and Design
  • Partner with Data & Analytics leadership to prioritize data initiatives and decide which ones become customer-facing capabilities first, then work with Engineering to deliver them, from sprint planning through release
  • Identify where AI and machine learning can turn our data into customer value — forecasting renter demand, recommending ways to improve marketing performance, or answering customers’ questions in plain language — and work with Data & Analytics and Engineering to scope, build, and validate those capabilities
  • Make sure the insights we put in front of customers are accurate, explainable, and easy to act on, working with Design so data is visualized clearly and built into the customer’s workflow instead of sitting in a dashboard.
  • Define and instrument success metrics for each capability, use experimentation to learn what’s working, and bring what our data reveals into broader product development.
  • Use AI tools in your own work, from synthesizing customer feedback and exploring data to drafting specs and prototyping, and share what works with the rest of the team
Who you are
  • 3-5+ years in product management, product analytics, or a hybrid of the two, preferably in B2B or data products — you’ve been the PM who did their own analysis or the analyst who kept getting pulled into product decisions, and you’re ready to own both sides
  • Fluent in data — comfortable enough in SQL to pull your own answers and sanity-check someone else’s, with a working understanding of how data models, metric definitions, and experiments fit together
  • A translator by nature — you can take a property manager asking “what are renters in this neighborhood looking for?” and turn it into a question an analyst can answer, then into a capability every customer can use
  • Comfortable working directly with customers — you can sit in on a call, hear what someone is really struggling with, and come back with a requirement, not just a feature request
  • Analytically minded with a strong point of view. You don’t just read dashboards, you form opinions about what the data means and what to do about it
  • Curious and hands-on with AI — you already use AI tools to work faster, and you have a grounded view of where AI adds real value in a product and where it’s just a flashy demo
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail — you can keep a roadmap, a backlog, and a set of stakeholders moving without dropping threads
  • Bonus points for experience in proptech, real estate, or marketplace businesses
Compensation
