Job Title: Product Manager, Cost
Job Summary
The Product Manager, Cost owns the roadmap and delivery for RevSpring's cost engine, the shared platform that calculates and delivers cost estimates and benefit information consumed by multiple product teams across the organization. You are responsible for the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of this shared capability, and for making sure the teams building on top of it can deliver a trustworthy cost experience to health system and health plan members and patients.
This is a platform-oriented role, with shared ownership of how this information is rendered in the user interface of downstream products. You will lead a team of engineers directly, working closely with the VP of Price Transparency and the CTO to set technical direction and prioritize investment in the cost engine. You will also work continuously with other product managers as stakeholders, understanding their teams' requirements, aligning on shared roadmap trade-offs, and ensuring the platform serves the needs of the broader product portfolio rather than any single product line.
Essential Functions
  • Own the roadmap for the cost engine, prioritizing investment across accuracy improvements, new data sources, performance, and scalability based on the needs of the multiple teams it serves.
  • Lead a team of engineers day to day: set clear priorities, review technical approach at a product level, remove blockers, and hold the team accountable to delivery commitments and quality standards.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Data and the CTO to align on data strategy, technical architecture, and long-term direction for the cost engine, and to make trade-off decisions when data quality, engineering complexity, and product needs are in tension.
  • Treat other product managers as core stakeholders: gather and reconcile requirements from teams building member- and patient-facing experiences on health system and health plan products, and translate competing requests into a coherent, well-sequenced backlog.
  • Safeguard accuracy of cost and benefit information: define and monitor quality standards for the engine's output, and drive resolution when accuracy issues affect the member or patient experience downstream.
  • Ensure the platform supports a positive, consistent member and patient experience across both health system and health plan customer contexts, even as underlying data sources, benefit structures, and business rules vary by customer type.
  • Communicate clearly across audiences: explain platform capabilities, constraints, and roadmap trade-offs to engineering, leadership, and product peers who depend on the cost engine.
Minimum Requirements
Specific Job Skills:
  • Experience: 2-5 years of product management experience, ideally including work on a platform, internal tool, or shared service consumed by multiple product teams.
  • Comfort leading engineers directly and working hands-on with technical stakeholders, including data and engineering leadership, on architecture and prioritization decisions.
  • Ability to gather and reconcile requirements from multiple internal stakeholders with competing priorities, and to communicate trade-offs clearly.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to quickly learn, healthcare cost estimation, benefit design, and the ways cost information reach members and patients differently across health system and health plan contexts.
  • Strong attention to data accuracy and a rigorous approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies in calculated output.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical platform concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Ability to manage a backlog that serves multiple downstream teams without direct authority over those teams' own roadmaps.
Preferred Skills
  • Healthcare RCM domain fluency: claims adjudication, EOBs, allowed amounts, contract rates, benefit accumulators, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the governing regulations such has No Surprises Act (GFE, Advanced EOB), hospital price transparency, and Transparency in Coverage.
  • Data and analytics product sense: defining metrics (estimate accuracy, confidence scoring), reasoning about ground truth and percentile benchmarks, and specifications of work for data scientists.
  • Cross-organizational skills to broker architecture and roadmap decisions across more than one product and engineering team.
  • Comfort managing a roadmap with external dependencies (e.g., payer support for mock adjudication / Advanced EOB).
  • Payer-side / EDI / clearinghouse experience.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or comparable data-warehouse environments.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2+ years of experience
Supervision: N/A
Certifications: N/A
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
