Job description

Product Manager - Content Acquisition - Contractual Workflows & CRM

Bloomberg relies on data. Our products are powered by comprehensive information, combining data and context to provide a complete picture for our clients globally and around the clock. In Data, we focus on delivering data, news, and analytics through innovative technology—efficiently and accurately. We utilize problem-solving skills to identify workflow efficiencies and implement technological solutions to enhance our systems, products, and processes.

The Content Acquisition (CA) team is a vital part of the Data department. Our responsibilities include managing, acquiring, and integrating content and data from various providers such as exchanges, brokers, and sell-side and buy-side entities to enhance the Bloomberg Terminal and other enterprise products. We oversee the governance, cost, and quality of data acquisition and collaborate across the company to develop strategies that align with our partners' goals.

Within CA, our Data Rights and Entitlements team ensures that our content partners trust Bloomberg with their content through robust data access controls, promoting data compliance awareness across Bloomberg and providing our customers with broad access and insights into third-party content.

The Data Rights team operates on three strategic pillars: scalable access controls, monitoring and awareness, and increasing entitlements and visibility. We are seeking a Product Manager to lead our monitoring and awareness strategy.

The Role:

We offer an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Data Rights team and lead our monitoring and awareness strategy. You will understand the needs of our content partners and internal collaborators, driving vision and strategy to monitor and understand our content partnerships, thereby enhancing their value across Bloomberg. You will collaborate with engineering teams and partners across CA, Data, and Core Product to identify and resolve problems in a scalable manner, supporting our partners and aligning strategies with company needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Articulate the product vision, strategy, and execution plan to internal partners.
  • Leverage technology to create meaningful, efficient solutions focused on outcomes.
  • Manage and validate collaborator requests for new products and improvements, gathering requirements and ensuring scalability.
  • Experiment to validate hypotheses, presenting mock-ups and product visions to build consensus.
  • Work with CA, Product, Data, and Engineering teams to define, scope, and solve complex problems in an Agile environment.
  • Manage product specifications, prioritization, and backlog.
  • Build positive relationships with engineers and empower them to solve problems.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Product Management role, overseeing the roadmap of an engineering team.
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and explain data pipelines and suggest alternatives.
  • Ability to define compelling product visions, metrics, and OKRs.
  • Curiosity, a desire to explore deeply, and a bias for action.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and complete projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including product discovery techniques.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and bringing transparency to unclear situations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work with global partners.
