Job description

Insurance is being rebuilt around AI, and most carriers don't yet know exactly what that should look like inside their own operations. We're looking for a Product Manager, Client Solutions to own that translation — from a client's first conversation about a messy underwriting process or a claims backlog, through to a live AI-driven product running in their environment.

This is not a backlog-management role. You're the person who sits with the client's stakeholders, figures out what's actually slowing them down or costing them money, and shapes that into a solution — sometimes a short discovery engagement that scopes the art of the possible, sometimes a full build that puts a production AI system into a carrier's day-to-day operations. You then bring that clarity back to our engineering and AI teams, and stay embedded as the owner of the requirements, the roadmap, and the outcome all the way through delivery.

If you've written user stories that made engineers' lives easier, and you've also sat across the table from a client trying to figure out what they actually need — this role asks you to do both, at the same time, on problems that are genuinely AI-forward. Travel Potential up to 10-20%

Scope engagements across the full spectrum — from short discovery sprints that define the opportunity to full product builds that ship AI systems into production

Use AI to translate client problems into detailed specifications that can be consumed agentically, bringing client solutions to market at the speed of AI

Own the product backlog for the engagement team, prioritizing based on client value, technical feasibility, and what will actually move the client's business

Monitor agentic acceptance testing to ensure your specifications are delivered accurately through our custom agentic engineering harness

Run UAT that validates the system against the client's real workflow — you're accountable for whether it actually works for them

Own client communication end to end: proactive updates, clear escalation paths, no surprises

Bring a point of view back to the client and the team — not just status updates, but a read on what's working, what isn't, and what should happen next

Contribute to the Dearborn Labs playbook — document what works so the next engagement moves faster

Previous insurance experience, preferably personal auto or broader P&C — you understand the industry well enough to earn credibility with a client fast

Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria that turn ambiguous requirements into something engineering can build against

Experience using AI thoughtfully to build engineering specifications more quickly

Genuine comfort being embedded with external stakeholders — building trust, navigating ambiguity, and driving a room full of people who don't report to you toward a decision

Ability to manage deliverables in an agile environment while juggling multiple client engagements at once, without losing the details

Obsessive attention to detail paired with high curiosity — you notice the thing that's slightly off before it becomes the client's problem

Deep understanding of data and enough SQL chops to be dangerous

Excellent communication, internally and externally — you can navigate complex relationships on both sides of the table to get the job done
