Summary of This Role

The Billing Solutions Product team drives Heartland’s Bill Pay product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap while working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for our customers. We are looking for a Product Manager who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and commercialize products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

What Part Will You Play?

  • Become a subject matter expert on the Bill Pay product
  • Take ownership of the product roadmap and contribute to overall product strategy
  • Write high-quality product briefs, epics, and stories
  • Collaborate with internal partners, stakeholders, and the Product Management team to lead the creation and execution of the product roadmap for assigned areas.
  • Partner with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization
  • Responsible for the full product life-cycle, including product and feature analysis, initiation, go-to-market strategy, prioritization, and performance
  • Understand the problems and needs of stakeholders and effectively communicate and prioritize this to the Agile development teams
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review business needs, refine priorities, track and communicate milestone and deliverable status, and identify opportunities and risks
  • Liaise with Operational and IT teams to optimize boarding and support processes, including escalating troubleshooting to a higher level when problems arise
  • Understand and keep up-to-date with industry trends and market dynamics
  • Create documentation and content to support new features and the overall customer experience
What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four (4) years of product or project development experience in a software, SaaS, or fin-tech company
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent product or project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire internal partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • Crafting external customer communications and maintenance notifications
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • Experience in writing product documentation, feature requirements, user stories, managing and prioritizing backlogs
  • Customer-first mindset with a focus on execution and resolution


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer experience in a software development environment or in a professional services role.
  • Prefer software or IT background (i.e., degree or experience)
  • Prefer direct experience with doing software development, testing and/or business analysis.
  • Prefer experience with Agile software products and delivery methodology
  • Prior experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner preferred – PO/PM Certification desired
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with development teams and a high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, and understanding of Agile principles
  • Experience with reporting and product experience analytics tools
  • Experience creating/maintaining product documentation, user guides, and recorded training materials in support of sales teams and product users
  • Experience with tools such as Miro, LucidChart, Jira, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Pendo.io, Pardot
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Payments Card Industry
