Job summary

Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. We power apps for Agents, Fortune 500s, and AI labs with a small SF-based product org focused on outcomes and prioritization.

You will own strategy and execution for new product extensions of the Exa API, working directly with strategic customers about 50% of the time to land real business outcomes.

Ideal candidates have hands-on PM experience, a technical background, and a track record of shipping developer-focused products at startups or scaleups.

Qualifications

• 2–8+ years of product management experience building technical or developer-facing products.
• Strong technical background (CS/EE) or equivalent depth earned on the job.
• Excellent written communication.
• A willingness to work directly with engineering teams by reading code+specifications, testing integrations directly and building prototypes with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap, strategy, and success metrics for product extensions of the core Exa API platform.
• Work directly with AI-native startups and enterprises that integrate the Exa tool. Watch them work, unblock them, and convert pain into productized capability
• Define metrics and success criteria to guide prioritization and measure impact across quality, coverage, cost, and speed.
• Partner with product marketing, sales, and the field to launch platform capabilities that land, like pricing and packaging, docs, cookbooks, and enablement.
