Job description

We’re supercharging the clean economy. Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the US. Our platform, market intelligence, and expert team help developers and manufacturers unlock financing through all stages of project development and operation.

Our team of 75+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others.

An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet this growing demand.

Prior to Crux, the capital markets supporting this transformation were opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a bespoke capital markets platform for the next century of American energy and industry. By connecting counterparties, providing market intelligence, and streamlining transactions, we unlock faster decision-making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated deployment.

The role
We are looking for our second product manager, to make the experience of negotiating, underwriting, and closing transactions on Crux efficient, intelligent, and seamless.

That will require a combination of collaboration and workflow software, delivered alongside LLM-driven automation and first and third-party data. All of that will have to be packaged and served to those doing this work, whether they are lawyers, investors, lenders, tax credit buyers, or Crux employees.

This product manager will work in close collaboration with our experienced engineering, product, design, and customer-facing teams to develop that vision, and bring it to life.

Our Values
  • Care for each other: We want to work on a team where people support each other - in their growth, in their work, and towards our shared mission.
  • Build and improve rapidly: The thing we can best control is our pace of learning and pace of execution.
  • Focus unremittingly on customers: Developers, manufacturers & their advisors are doing critical work to accelerate renewable energy development.
  • Demonstrate ownership: We are all owners of Crux.
  • Convene a team that reflects the breadth of experiences in the country: We expect everyone to actively help us build a team where people of all backgrounds can thrive.
What You’ll Do
  • Own the roadmap for either drafting contracts or underwriting transactions on the Crux platform
  • Deeply understand our customers and market: the individual projects, surrounding market environment, and workflows to be able to build features purpose-built for their needs
  • Define & implement metrics to help us understand what’s working and what’s not
  • Actively participate in company-building: help us improve Crux for our customers & as a team
Who You Are
  • Executional Excellence: you are high ownership, and are known to solve customer problems by those who have worked with you.
  • LLM-native: you have built features that leverage LLMs, and have a mature product sense for where and how to deploy them.
  • Strategic Rigor: you are thoughtful in your strategic thinking.
  • Startup Minded: you are excited about working at an early-stage startup.
  • Mission Oriented: you want to use your skills to improve sustainable finance, in a collaborative team environment
What we offer
  • Estimated all-in cash compensation of $175-225k, depending on level
  • Competitive equity package
  • Healthcare benefits, including dependent coverage
  • Remote-first company, with co-working opportunities in NYC, DC, SF, Denver and Seattle, plus opportunity to travel for company-wide in-person onsites 3x a year.
  • Travel stipend to get the team together at least once a quarter
