Job description
Overview

MotoSport.com is a core part of the Backcountry portfolio and a leader in powersports e-commerce. We are seeking a highly technical Product Manager who will own the entire MotoSport technology stack end-to-end — from the front-end customer experience to merchandising systems, fulfillment integrations, and back-end platforms. This role demands someone who thrives on complexity, can flex across domains, and translates business opportunities into scalable technical solutions. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering high-impact initiatives that grow conversion, drive efficiency, and improve customer experience. This is not a narrow product role — it requires broad systems thinking, deep technical fluency, and the ability to work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, data analysts, and business leaders. This position reports into the VP of Product and UX.

What you get to do every day:

  • Product Ownership Across the Stack
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the MotoSport.com tech ecosystem including front-end site experience, merchandising tools, and core back-end integrations
  • Build, maintain, and communicate a clear product roadmap aligned with company strategy
Technical Product Leadership
  • Write detailed and technically sound product requirements documents (PRDs)
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to evaluate tradeoffs, ensure feasibility, and simplify technical solutions
  • Serve as the connective tissue between technical and non-technical teams
Analytical and Strategic Impact
  • Use data to rigorously evaluate opportunities, size business impact, and prioritize effectively
  • Define success metrics for initiatives and track outcomes to drive accountability
  • Identify and mitigate risks across systems and workflows
Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner with merchandising, marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure tools and systems enable their success
  • Lead cross-team alignment and manage competing priorities with flexibility and pragmatism

What you bring to the role:

  • Technical Fluency – 5+ years of product management experience with strong exposure to engineering, system integrations, or technical e-commerce platforms; able to write requirements engineers respect.
  • Systems Thinking – Operates effectively at the intersection of front-end, back-end, and merchandising workflows; comfortable context-switching across domains.
  • Analytical Rigor – Skilled in data analysis, experimentation, and KPI-driven decision making.
  • Execution & Flexibility – Proven track record of driving complex projects from concept to delivery in dynamic environments.
  • Communication & Influence – Excellent written and verbal skills; able to simplify complexity and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Domain Knowledge – Experience with e-commerce platforms, merchandising systems, or ERP/WMS integrations.
  • Data Skills – Background in SQL and analytics platforms (GA4, Looker, etc.) or equivalent technical tools to support data-driven decisions.
  • Agile Practices – Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma, etc.).
