Job summary

Henry Schein, Inc. is seeking a product strategy leader to define and drive the roadmap for one or more products in the repair parts business.

The role acts as both business and technical manager across product lifecycle, collaborating with marketing, sales, support and development teams. The candidate will manage PLCM for product categories, develop pricing aligned with overall strategy, and contribute to VOC and CCD efforts with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Typically 3 to 5+ years of increasing responsibility in related professional experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
  • Proficient in project management and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with product development, sourcing and vendor negotiations.
  • Knowledge of Medical Device Regulations preferred.

Job description

This position is responsible for the strategy, roadmap and detail technical feature definition of one or more products in the repair parts business. Functions as a business and technical manager for assigned product(s), responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This position will collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas to manage and support all phases of marketing and product development for projects; including sourcing, pricing, sales, marketing, packaging, performance management, product specifications, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Ensures that the product(s) support the company’s overall strategy and goals. Bridges organizational gaps between different functional groups, most often between development, marketing, sales and support. Researches the market and competitive environment in the effort to define a product vision that provides significant long-term advantage to the targeted customers of the assigned products and to the company. Role is inclusive of being a technical expert on the product(s) as well as having a very good working knowledge of the business drivers and customer success factors for the assigned products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aid/support the development and maintenance of:
  • Portfolio pipeline/roadmap and opportunity pipeline (funnel)
  • Marketing plan
  • Product specific targeting and positioning
  • Good understanding of product categories, able to field technical/product related questions for some categories within the business.
  • Execute on Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM) Strategy for product categories within the business.
  • With minimal oversight, develops pricing for responsible areas/products consistent with Marketing strategy and brand positioning.
  • Assist in development of new marketing channels and tools.
  • Contribute and execute customer facing activities like VOC (voice of customer) and CCD (customer centered design) in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally and with key internal/external stakeholders to participate in new product development (NPD) process.
  • With minimal supervision, oversees all packaging design and labeling for responsible product(s), ensuring conformance to all regulatory standards for both domestic and international markets.
  • Define the product vision, strategy and roadmap by leveraging competitive, customer and market analysis Trade research on the product offerings inclusive of competitive, client, pricing and industry trending.
  • Development of project plans and status reports to monitor projects
  • Provide new ideas and concepts that contribute to enhanced customer experience, expand product capabilities and set us apart from our competition.
  • Assist in customer advocacy for product / solution designs.
  • Work closely with development or vendor team(s) to ensure feature sets exceed customer expectation.
  • Continuously monitor, measure and report on key business metrics.
  • Identify areas for improvement.
  • Very knowledgeable and become a go to company resource on assigned product(s).
  • In-depth knowledge of sales requirements on assigned product(s).
  • In-depth knowledge of support requirements on assigned product(s).
  • Visit customers and attend industry events.
Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Must be proficient in project management knowledge & skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with product development, project management, sourcing and vendor negotiations
  • Possesses excellent public presentation skills both internal and external (customer-facing)
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional team(s)
  • Knowledge of Medical Device Regulations preferred
  • Technical background in product development preferred
  • Knowledge of the Dental market including the business of dentistry is preferred

Salary

The posted range for this position is $87,168-$119,857, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
