Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking an Onsite Aftermarket Product Manager to drive marketing plans and growth for assigned commodities. You will coordinate with engineering to release kits, forecast campaigns, and manage annual product sales of $40-80M.

The role emphasizes cross-functional work with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain to optimize pricing, inventory, and strategy. The position requires strong communication, analytical skills, and willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience in business, marketing, or engineering.
  • 3+ years of product management or related experience.
  • Strong business acumen, detail oriented, and excellent verbal/written communication.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and interact with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex business problems.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Inventory, Planning, and Distribution to ensure product, cost points, inventory levels, lead times and supply agreements.
  • Use available tools and systems to analyze sales history, forecasted opportunity and market share to set growth positioning.
  • Prepare and present strategies, projects, value, and issues to management, distributors and customers.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to provide selling material and train Sales Managers and Customer Service Reps on key product advantages.
  • Work with pricing to establish appropriate product pricing.
  • Travel 20-35% to visit customers and strategic suppliers.

Job Overview

Aftermarket Product Management position responsible for execution of marketing plans and programs to ensure profit growth and expansion of parts sales. Develop, establish, and maintain comprehensive business and growth plans for assigned commodities. Be accountable for the growth goals and results. Work with all PMs & Sales team members to develop and release kits through engineering to support customers. Monitor and coordinate incoming development requests from both internal and external customers. Forecasting and reporting of Marketing campaigns & upgrades. Other tasks as assigned. Responsible for annual product sales of $40-80M in assigned parts commodities

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Inventory, Planning, and Distribution to ensure appropriate product, cost points, inventory levels, lead times and supply agreements are in place for the successful growth of assigned commodities.
  • Use available tools and computer systems to analyze sales history, forecasted opportunity and product market share percentages to understand current market position and establish desired growth positioning.
  • Prepare and present strategies, projects, value, and issues to management, to distributors and/or customers as required.
  • Work with Marketing Communications, and other departments to provide current selling material, presentations, value propositions, case studies, brochures, etc. to the region and train Sales Managers and Customer Service Reps with working knowledge of the key advantages of assigned commodity product(s).
  • Work with pricing team to establish appropriate pricing for assigned products
  • Travel as required to visit customers, strategic suppliers, and review business environment with the distributors (20-35%)
  • Work with suppliers on product pricing, distribution rights, forecasting usage, technical issues and increasing product value to end customers.
  • Work with Product Support, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Supplier Quality Assurance to understand application product quality concerns.
  • Work with Regional Managers and Service/Repair Shop managers to promote sales or resolve issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or related experience (business, marketing, or other engineering).
  • At least 3+ years of product management or related experience.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, detail oriented, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the regions and feel comfortable interacting with regions and customers of different cultures.
  • Excellent ability to understand, analyze and identify solutions to overcome complex business problems.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work across department lines to influence and build consensus
Additional Information

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$79,500 - $98,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
