Abacus Business Computer, a New York City-based POS systems company, seeks a Product Manager with strong UX/UI capabilities to own the full product lifecycle across hardware and software.

You will bridge product strategy with execution, lead design across POS terminals, mobile apps, and dashboards, and collaborate with US/China teams to deliver impactful solutions for restaurants, retail, and franchises.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Abacus Business Computer (abcPOS) is a New York City-based POS systems company providing end-to-end solutions, including POS systems, merchant services, and growth marketing. With over 30 years in the industry, abcPOS serves more than 6,000 customers and supports 40,000 installed devices across restaurants, retail, e-commerce, and franchise businesses.

We are looking for a Product Manager with strong UX/UI design capabilities who can own the full product lifecycle while also contributing hands-on to user experience and interface design. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can bridge product strategy with execution across both hardware and software platforms.

Must be fluent in both Mandarin (Chinese) and English.

Responsibilties:

• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, including market research, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements definition, and product launch.
• Define and evolve product strategy based on customer insights, industry trends, and business goals
• Translate product vision into detailed technical requirements for engineering teams.
• Create product documentation including business cases, use cases, technical specifications, and ROI analysis.

UX/UI Design & Experience

• Lead the UX/UI process from research to final design across POS terminals (handheld, stationary, kiosks), mobile apps, dashboards, and customer-facing interfaces
• Design intuitive, user-centered experiences across web, mobile, and hardware platforms
• Produce wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and interaction specifications
• Simplify complex workflows into clean and efficient user experiences
• Contribute to and evolve the company’s design system

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering teams (US/China), marketing, and business teams to drive product development
• Collaborate across teams to align product goals, user needs, and technical feasibility
• Coordinate with QA, tech support, and sales to ensure successful product releases
• Lead design reviews and facilitate cross-functional discussions
• Conduct market and customer research to identify product opportunities
• Define product positioning and messaging to differentiate abcPOS
• Support go-to-market strategies, including customer engagement and sales enablement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in product design, engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience managing the full product development lifecycle
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
• Excellent cross-functional communication and project management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Fluent in both Mandarin (Chinese) and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the POS industry, especially within hospitality
• Background in software or web development
• Experience working in startup environments
• Strong understanding of UX principles and design methodologies
