Job summary

Knak Digital is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the roadmap for that portfolio: what gets built next, what gets sunset, and how the tech stack holds up as the product line scales.

You will sit between Sales and Engineering, translate field feedback and customer asks into MRDs/PRDs, and own products from concept through end of life.

On-site five days a week in Byron Center, MI, with PTO, health/dental/vision benefits, and a 401K with company match.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Management or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with hardware-plus-software systems (auto/industrial).
• Experience communicating roadmaps to enterprise clients and partners.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is hiring a Technical Product Manager to own the roadmap for that portfolio: what gets built next, what gets sunset, and how the tech stack holds up as the product line scales.

What you'll do

• Sit between Sales and Engineering. Turn field feedback and customer asks into actual product requirements docs (MRDs/PRDs), not just notes
• Own products from concept through end of life, including make-vs-buy-vs-partner calls
• Audit legacy product lines for performance issues and modernize them for current cloud and hardware standards
• Drive integration across computer vision/AI, radar, DVR/NVR recording, and cloud SaaS telemetry systems
• Join Sales on customer visits, fleet pilots, and industry conferences. Present roadmap and handle technical objections directly with fleet operators and OEMs

What you need

• 5+ years in Product Management, Technical Project Management, or Applications Engineering, ideally in automotive aftermarket, commercial fleet, transport, or maritime safety
• Hands-on experience with hardware-plus-software systems. Automotive vision systems, radar integration, CAN bus/J1939 data, or ruggedized electronics experience is a strong plus
• Working knowledge of how edge devices talk to cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure): data protocols, video streaming constraints, cellular/SaaS pipelines
• Comfortable using structured frameworks (weighted scoring, etc.) to justify roadmap decisions to stakeholders
• Track record presenting technical roadmaps directly to enterprise clients, fleet managers, or tier-1 partners
• Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related technical field. MBA or product certs (Pragmatic, CSPO) are a plus but not required
