As a member of theProductManagement team, you will partner with leaders across the product, operations, engineering, IT, and sales teams to drive innovation andleveragethe latest technologies to deliver best-in-classbackofficesystems that achieve businessobjectives. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology withanability to lead innovation and execution. In thisbusiness-criticalrole, you will merge customer needs with technology to cast a vision for Verra Mobility’s legacy and futurebackofficesolutions and drive the organization toward that goal.You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to manage thebackofficesystems across their lifecycle, gathering requirements, scoping initiatives,establishingproduct roadmaps, and working with development and support teams to ensure high product quality while minimizing cost.

But thisisn’ta backlog-grooming role, asyou’llown discovery : getting in front of customers,validatingthe problems, stress-testing potential solutions, and driving a roadmap that delivers measurable outcomes.You’llreport directly to theDirectorof Product andoperateas akeyproduct leaderas we build toward a modern Product Operating Model.
What You’ll Do
Own the problem, drive discovery
- Lead continuous customer discovery, includinginterviews, ride-alongs,anddata analysis,tovalidateproblems and pressure-test solutions before committing to build.
- Frame customer and business problems with clarity and evidence, ensuring the team works on what truly matters.
- Define andmaintaina prioritized roadmap grounded in measurable outcomes,rather thana feature wish list.
- Balance user needs, businessobjectives, and technicalfeasibility,usingsound judgmentand solid product sense.
- Partner early with Legal,Compliance, andOperationsfunctionsto shapeviablesolutions.
- Own the problem end-to-end, make tough prioritization calls, document your reasoningand outcomes.
Guide delivery and build trust with your squad
- Partner closely with your technical lead and engineering team,creating context, removing ambiguity, and enabling the squad to move with speed and confidence.
- Collaborateclosely with yourdesignleadto ensure solutions arenot justtechnically soundbut alsouser centered.
- Write crisp, outcome-orientedbriefsand acceptance criteria;avoid over-specifying implementation details, and focus on why the problem matters and what success looks like
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate discovery synthesis, documentation, anddeliveryworkflows.
- Share your approach to discovery and product thinking with peers, contributing to a growing product practice.
Connect product to impact
- Develop a working understanding of how products drive revenue, retention, and operational efficiency for our customers.
- Contribute to go-to-market strategy by informing pricing, positioning, andlaunchreadiness in close collaboration with commercial teams.
- Define and track success metrics that link customer outcomes to business performance.
- Serve as the internal expert for your product area trusted by sales, operations, and leadership.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 3–7 years of product management experience, witha track recordof owning outcomes.
- Experience leading customer discovery and translating qualitative and quantitative insights into product decisions.
- Ability tooperateeffectively in a cross-functional squad environment alongside engineering and design peers.
- Experience in regulated or complex-domainindustries, such asautomotive, fleet, payments, fintech, or similar, with a demonstrated record of learning new domains.
- Comfort working in and contributing to organizations evolving their product operating model.
- Active use of AI toolsto enhance productivity in day-to-day product work,such asdiscoveryworkflows,streamliningdocumentation,automating research, creatingprototypes, and accelerating delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication:youwrite clearly,tailor your message todifferent audiences, and tell a coherent product story.
- Strong critical thinking and a bias toward evidence over opinion.
- Knowledge of the transportation/smart mobility sector and road safetyisa plus
- Familiarity with product tooling such asAha!,Azure DevOps, JIRA, or comparable platforms.
- Experience working with compliance, legal, or regulatory stakeholders in amulti-jurisdictional environment.

- Location:Preference given to local candidatesinour Mesa, AZheadquartersor New York City office.Will considerremotecandidateswho expresswillingnessforoccasional travel.
- Travel: Light, primarily for team offsites and customer engagement.
