Job Details

Working under the general direction of the President, performs a wide variety of duties in the development, introduction and maintenance of our products. These activities are in support of the overall business plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute the “Product Development Specification” to include, but not be limited to:
    • A general preamble describing the overall scope of the project.
    • A detailed definition of the product design requirements.
    • A detailed analysis of the market for this product, which will include, but not be limited to:
      • Cost targets
      • Competitors
      • Argument for why the new product is needed
      • Market potential (dollars)
      • Expected market share growth over 5 years
    • A product introduction schedule.
  • Manage projects to completion and assume overall responsibility for meeting target dates and target costs.
  • Coordinate preparation of the “Product Introduction Package” with the respective sales manager to include, but will not be limited to:
    • Sales brochure
    • Technical brochure
    • Feature/benefit analysis
    • Price sheets
    • Order forms
    • IOM manuals
    • Parts list (where applicable)
    • PowerPoint introduction program
    • Integration into Specifier and Informer electronic media
  • Responsible for the preparation of list price tables, order forms, and technical literature.
  • Maintaining accurate records of product line sales and profits.
  • Maintaining the list prices.
  • Maintaining competitor information.
  • Development of reports, training materials, training sessions and special projects completed from time to time.
  • The product manager possesses technical knowledge, and competitive market knowledge, above and beyond the average employee and will be called upon to share that expertise as described.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • 10-15 years of experience in HVAC industry
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or HVAC Engineering Product experience
  • Microsoft Office, Power Point, Market Analysis, ROI Analysis in Excel
  • Experience giving presentations
  • Traveling to trade shows for presentations once or twice a year
