Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) offers a Summer Internship in its Strategy team within Product Management. The role supports active sprint execution, backlog grooming, story writing, and research feeding into product strategy. You will gain visibility into the tactical and strategic sides of product ownership.

This 12-week program runs May–August or June–September, open to undergraduate and graduate students actively enrolled, with up to 40 hours per week in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in product management and financial technology
• Willingness to learn Jira and Confluence
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Prior internship or coursework in product management or software development

Responsibilities

• Support creation and refinement of user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items in Jira
• Maintain product documentation, roadmaps, and meeting notes in Confluence
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement)
• Help prioritize backlog with Product Owners based on business value
• Conduct research and gather requirements from internal stakeholders (Operations, Risk, Tech)
• Support competitive analysis, market research, and inputs to product strategy
• Track sprint progress, identify blockers, and assist with velocity/delivery reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on product goals
• Create presentations or summaries for leadership on product updates and strategic recommendations
