The Product Management Director, Software is responsible for driving the strategy and execution of Cepheid’s Software portfolio, including installed base growth, lifecycle management, and on-market performance optimization for both platform and reporting software. This role partners closely across assay, instrument, and commercial teams to enable overall system growth and deliver an integrated customer solutions. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Product Management, Systems & Software and is part of the Global Product Management Organization located in Sunnyvale, CA and will be an On-site role. In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Set future vision for the System portfolio strategy including shaping the roadmap, installed base expansion, and lifecycle management (launch, on-market releases, end-of-life, and lead strategy and product performance reviews with senior leadership).
• Lead cross-functional execution of software strategy by partnering with R&D, operations, service, assay/product teams, and commercial functions to deliver high-performing solutions aligned with overall business objectives.
• Drive System launch excellence and go-to-market strategy, including defining value proposition, positioning, collateral to ensure software is viewed as a selling point for platforms and assays.
• Identify growth opportunities for Software Improvement by analyzing market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer workflow needs to inform software development and expansion priorities.
• Own the System Franchise strategy, driving initiatives to expand connected installed base, improve software utilization and reliability, and contribute to system-level differentiation through evidence-based competitive positioning.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 8+ years of related work experience
• 4+ years experience in Global Product Management or Global Product Marketing
• Demonstrated experience leading global product launches and working in cross-functional groups globally

Travel Requirements

• Role requires frequent travel of up to 30% and may include some international travel.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Knowledge of the molecular diagnostic industry, including instrument platform software and competitive system landscapes, is highly desired.
• Communicates effectively and is a strong team player/collaborator with various internal constituents, customers, and other stakeholders

The annual salary range for this role is $195,000 - $215,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
