Product Line Manager - Vision/Optical (ID: 672672) (Remote Working)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Product Line Roadmap:
  2. Own the Product Roadmap, gathering insights from Sales, Engineering, Operations, and market studies.
  3. Collaborate with Regional Sales for an innovative revenue-focused roadmap, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with market trends.
  4. Work closely with Engineering for precise product requirements adaptable to market needs.
  5. Utilize market intelligence to develop a roadmap addressing future customer needs and driving revenue growth.
  6. Ensure competitive price/performance alignment with industry standards.
  7. Disseminate relevant market intelligence to teams and identify competitor products for benchmarking.
  8. Support service & spares, optimizing the product life cycle for maximum aftermarket revenue.

Program Management:

  1. Promote tradeoff proposals to key stakeholders and proactively negotiate product specifications that meet customer needs in a realizable product.
  2. Supervise translation of product requirements into specifications.
  3. Provide leadership for all product development aspects including hardware and software.
  4. Direct cross-functional product teams, including R&D, manufacturing engineering, and quality.
  5. Manage programs with plans and objectives to address technical, performance, cost, schedule, and quality risks.

Market & Business Development:

  1. Assume commercial responsibility for the Product Line, especially Top New Products revenue and gross margin. Develop and present Go To Market Strategies (GTSM) and hold monthly regional calls for collaboration.
  2. Support the development of a five-year strategic plan, identifying market and business opportunities for product innovation.
  3. Define and regularly review the price lists for the Product Line, optimizing them to meet Gross Margin commitments and ensuring regional accuracy.
  4. Analyze competitor products, industry benchmarks, and customer behaviors to refine positioning.
  5. Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts for the Product Line and Top New Products.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, e.g., Vision / Optical.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overseas.
