Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned product marketing leader to drive market intelligence, define vision, and steer product ranges through their life cycle. You will collaborate with sales, marketing, and partners to align strategies and improve profitability while ensuring regulatory and quality compliance.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and experience managing complex product portfolios in a global, matrix environment. Occasional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineer, Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, product development, or related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • Optical networking or telecommunications product, industry, and technical acumen
  • Product management/marketing expertise, including market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, and product life-cycle management
  • Experience working effectively within a matrix environment
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Occasional travel may be required; approximately 20% or less
  • Ability to work extended hours to accommodate global operations may be required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and build collaborative relationships
  • Strong analytical and process skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product and market intelligence to AFL to increase market share for assigned product ranges
  • Establish long‑term vision and strategy for assigned product ranges
  • Communicate product line vision and strategy to relevant participants and stakeholders
  • Manage designated product ranges throughout their life cycle to maximize return and profit
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and commercial change processes
  • Lead commercial input to product development, including product market requirements and target market/customer identification
  • Define product models, structures, offerings, and offering structures
  • Identify requirements for sales training, content, processes, practices, and tools
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, partners, and stakeholders to improve sales results and productivity
  • Manage performance and post‑launch financial performance of new product introductions
  • Determine and manage product pricing, discounts, growth, capacity utilization, and profitability
  • Establish, communicate, implement, and maintain quality policies and measurable quality objectives
