Job description

The Product Line Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and profitability of a specific product line or portfolio. This role serves as the business owner for the product line, working cross‑functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure product success from concept to end‑of‑life. The Product Line Manager analyzes market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to drive product innovation, roadmap development, and go‑to‑market strategy.

A Successful Candidate Must Be Able To
  • Own the full lifecycle of the assigned product line — from market research and roadmap planning to launch, performance tracking, and phase‑out.
  • Define product strategy, value propositions, and positioning based on market needs, customer feedback, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to define product requirements, features, and timelines.
  • Analyze product performance, pricing strategies, and margins to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Act as the product line expert, supporting sales teams with training, technical documentation, and customer presentations.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage product launches and work with marketing to develop go‑to‑market strategies, collateral, and messaging.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain to ensure product availability, forecast accuracy, and cost optimization.
  • Collect and prioritize customer feedback and market data to influence future product development.
  • Monitor product KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, market share, and customer satisfaction.
  • All other duties assigned.
A Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, go‑to‑market strategies, and P&L ownership.
  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ERP systems, CRM platforms, and product management software (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Confluence).
  • Experience managing technical or hardware‑based product lines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field; MBA or technical master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably within energy, electronics, software or similar field.
  • Background in solar energy is preferred. Power electronics, industrial equipment, or similar sectors would be considered.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and certification processes (e.g., UL, CE, ISO).
  • Prior involvement with international markets and global product strategies.
Physical Requirements
  • This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, computer work and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
