Crane Company in Kentucky is seeking an Advanced Nuclear Product Line Leader within Crane Nuclear to shape long-term strategy for SMRs and advanced nuclear technologies. In June 2025, Crane announced our intent to acquire Precision Sensors & Instrumentation (“PSI”), a leading provider of sensor-based technologies for aerospace, nuclear and process industries, from Baker Hughes. The $1.1 billion acquisition will add roughly $400 million in sales and 1,700 associates to Crane. PSI includes the Druck, Panametrics, and Reuter-Stokes brands that manufacture instrumentation and sensor-based technologies to detect and analyze pressure, flow, gas, moisture, and radiation across various industries, serving customers in more than 90 countries. Crane is so excited for the planned welcome of these brands into our portfolio and the role they will play in continuing to drive profitable growth for the company.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive long-term planning and strategy for Nuclear Growth (SMRs, Advanced Nuclear Technologies, Pressurized Water Reactors)
  • Cultivating executive-level and working-level customer relationships across all levels of the customer organization; developing strategic partnerships to enable full-scope project solutions .Acting as the voice of the customer, proactively identifying emerging needs, influencing product roadmaps, and collaborating with customers on specifications, licensing considerations, and application requirements.
  • Leading opportunity strategy and capture planning, including win themes, competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and risk mitigation; supporting proposal development and leading commercial negotiations.
  • Lead product line annual planning driving accountability across functional and business areas.
  • Optimize and integrate processes meeting both internal and external needs.
  • Identify, develop and present strategies and business cases, technical roadmaps, risks and associated risk mitigation plans to senior leaders across the business with plans being developed collaboratively across the product line.
  • Work with our project management, operations, and engineering teams to ensure expectations are being met.
  • Working with the commercial team and key technology experts, develop long-term customer relationships both domestic and international.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends, including regulatory shifts, reactor deployment timelines, funding programs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategy and business decisions. Comply with all safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
  • Proactively identifies appropriate segmenting, targeting, and positioning of product/service in the competitive landscape.
  • Works with Supply Chain to identify and create supply strategies and cost targets.
  • Leads the NPI planning phase and delivers commercial success in coordination with commercial, operations, and technology stakeholders; this includes leading proposal development efforts from creating basis of estimates through pricing and senior leadership reviews.
  • Participates in Stage Gate product and technology development teams, including documentation as required for gate meetings.
  • Represents the organization in outside discussions, customers, and technical forums.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 8 years in cross-functional leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in sales, operations, engineering, or technical support.
  • Financial acumen with previous responsibility for financial success of a business or project.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills resulting in business growth.,
  • Ability to plan, document, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills with familiarity with Systems Engineering processes and Agile Project Management methodology.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Proven success working within highly regulated environments (nuclear, medical, food, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel for customer & supplier visits (domestic and international; up to 40% annually).
  • Must be a results-oriented self-starter with excellent leadership and relationship skills.
  • Ability to develop, learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and programs as needed
