Job summary

SEW.ai seeks a senior AI/ML leader to drive development and deployment of AI solutions across Energy & Utilities platforms. You will guide model architecture, training pipelines, and governance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with clients and partners.

You will translate complex use cases into scalable AI features, ensuring responsible AI practices and strong cross-functional partnerships. This role demands strategic thinking and hands-on technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience in AI/ML or data science.
• Experience with large-scale financial or transactional data is preferred.
• Ability to influence business strategy and communicate at all levels.
• Ability to translate client challenges from business and technology perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of AI/ML and Vertical AI solutions for Energy & Utilities platform use cases.
• Serve as business/technical leader for model architecture, feature engineering, training pipelines, and inference services.

Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for explaining, building and maintaining an innovative mindset. You will have a deep problem-solving and trusting partner relationship with our SEW.ai internal platform teams, global clients and partners. You and our SEW.ai team will be building and discussing the value of our SEW.ai AI Platforms and helping clients to share the value delivered by our SEW.ai platforms while co-innovating with our industry & similar industry AI use cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of AI/ML and Vertical AI solutions for Energy & Utilities Customer, Workforce, Grid, Digital Payment and eMobility platform use cases. Lead development and deployment of AI/ML and Vertical AI Platform solutions for Energy & Utilities Customer, Workforce, Grid, Digital Payment and eMobility platform use cases.
• Serve as business / technical leaders for model architecture, feature engineering, training pipelines, and inference services.
• Manage and mentor AI Engineers and ML practitioners; provide code and design reviews.
• Implement AIOps/MLOps and model governance practices aligned with regulations, compliance and internal Model Risk Management (MRM) standards.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and Data teams to ensure Responsible AI Model adoption.
• Oversee model validation, explainability, bias testing, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with product and business leaders to translate use cases into scalable AI features.
• Work with clients and partners for our SEW.ai Vertical AI platform operations and business strategy - measuring innovation, satisfaction, asking about challenges, and offering help when needed
• Providing thought leadership, innovation, and having the confidence to challenge business strategy with the client.

• Supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning
• Deep learning (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers)
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) & LLMs
• Model training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining
• Feature stores, vector databases, and model registries
• CI/CD pipelines for ML (MLOps)

Responsible AI & Governance

• Model explainability (SHAP, LIME)
• Privacy-preserving ML techniques (differential privacy, federated learning)

Programming & Tooling

• Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX
• LangChain, semantic search, vector embeddings
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively and follow up to ensure achievement of deadlines, outcomes and results.

Requirements
