Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Product Health Technician to perform critical repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery. You will diagnose problems, remove and install parts, and test assemblies with minimal supervision in a field/service environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, 3–5 years’ related experience, and preferred diesel tech certs; a CDL and CAT product knowledge are highly valued. Travel up to 75% is expected; safety compliance is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years related experience.
  • Associate degree or certification in diesel technology preferred.
  • Certification in air-conditioning and brakes.
  • CDL required for field assignment; must be 21+.
  • CAT product knowledge of diesel, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools, precision measuring tools and diagnostic software.
  • DOT physical may be required; MSHA certification may be required.
  • Able to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and perform all critical machine repairs.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis and determine proper diagnosis.
  • Perform safety/service letters and maintenance program tasks, and install Product Link units.

The Product Health Technician is responsible for performing certain repairs and maintenance critical to the health of the product.

What You’ll Do
  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determines proper diagnosis.
  • Perform safety and priority service letters issued by Caterpillar and or other manufactures, inspections required in our Planned Maintenance Program, and installation and repair of Product Link units.
What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3-5 years of related experience and/or testing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s degree/certification in diesel technology, or similar mechanical discipline, preferred.
  • Certification and or experience in air-condition and brakes.
  • Clean driving record and CDL for field assignment, must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle
  • Specific CAT product knowledge of diesel, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems and components.
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, diagnostic software, cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Requires the ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.
  • May be required to complete a DOT physical.
  • May require MSHA certification.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
  • Must have successfully completed all level II foundational assessment tests.
