In this role, Product Hardware Design Manager – Aggregator, you will be responsible for executing Hardware Design Validation and Release throughout the product lifecycle. You will lead the Hardware Engineering Team and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Layout, Mechanical Engineering, Software, Semiconductor) to deliver quality products on time.
You will effectively achieve program milestones through thorough program management and will coach and lead a team of electrical hardware engineers.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide a team of electrical hardware designers, providing technical direction, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Mentor and coach hardware engineers to support career growth.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical hardware designs.
- Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.
- Drive new IC design and development strategies aligned with advanced in-vehicle architectures.
- Lead electrical schematic design and PCB layout activities.
- Assess the feasibility of proposed hardware designs, considering cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Support next-generation digital/analog hardware designs, including Gigabit Ethernet, processors, memory, eFuses, FETs, HSD/LSD, and other semiconductors related to Aggregators.
- Perform and review electrical worst-case analyses.
- Represent GM's hardware team as a design expert in core technology development.
- Optimize parametric tests and finalize end-of-line production tests.
- Lead build-to-print processes and act as liaison with contract manufacturing.
- Apply cost-effective solutions to improve performance and design.
- Lead product development within a multi-hub engineering organization based in Detroit and the West Coast.
- Refine and optimize requirements with the MPG team.
- Maintain hardware design deliverables such as block diagrams, schematics, and PCB layouts.
- Lead peer reviews, identify issues related to integration, interfaces, and systemic problems.
- Support engineering change requests (ECRs) for Aggregators.
- Assist in resolving assembly plant issues.
- Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and issue resolution activities.
- Support product investigations following the SFI process.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives.
- Guide and consult with Design Release Engineers (DREs) during product development.
- Create and maintain best practices.
- Work cross-functionally within the Aggregator team and across other SMTs.
- Collaborate with Aggregator TS, Electric Power Subsystem TS, and Safety teams.
- Ensure all vehicle program imperatives involving these components are met.
- Coordinate with DRE/Validation groups to develop and execute component validation plans.
- Participate in formal design, peer, and quality reviews as per the Vehicle Development Process (VDP).
- Develop, review, and approve electrical test plans.
- Support vehicle integration activities for pre-production and production vehicles.
- Lead and support issue resolution for design, development, warranty, parts restrictions, and report updates.
- Lead/support DFMEA/PFMEA processes for Aggregator hardware.
