Full Stack Engineer

Our mission at New Gen is to unlock agentic commerce. We work with the best brands to build the most intelligent commerce agents in the world. We believe all merchant websites and interfaces will eventually incorporate an intelligence layer, and New Gen aims to provide that layer, making the internet dynamic and adaptive to users.

We’re building a small team of exceptional engineers that are excited about building the future of websites and internet commerce. We’re looking for a full stack engineer that knows the bar for a great product, and who can iterate and experiment quickly as we build towards it.

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have experience building 0 to 1 products that balance moving fast with scalable implementations, either as an ex-founder or at an early stage startup
• Have worked hands on with the latest AI models and LLM retrieval systems, and developed a strong intuition about both current and future model capabilities
• Care deeply about building high quality user experiences and are excited about the practical challenges of implementing AI products
• Want to join a high growth, fast paced team and are based in San Francisco (or willing to occasionally hop on a plane if not in SF)
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and bias toward action

Bonuses

• Shipped a production LLM or consumer application that people use
• Worked on traditional ML and recommendation systems
• Experience with model-based evals and observability
• Know the ins and outs of Postgres, ElasticSearch, AWS or IaaC tools
• Have explored languages like Elixir or Go
• Love building with tools like TypeScript, NextJS, & Fastify
