Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Lab Test Engineer for Turf and Compact Utility Platforms located in Grovetown, GA. In this role, you will collect test data, review results with the lead engineer, and report findings in the Vision system, while identifying automation opportunities and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years in the field, data analysis tools experience, and a background in product development and engineering principles. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ag, etc...) or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years experience in field and product development process.
• 1+ years experience using data analysis tools and CAD/engineering tools.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities

As a Lab Test Engineer for Turf and Compact Utility Platforms located in Grovetown, GA, you will:

• Collect test data, review with lead engineer and report results in the Vision system
• Identify innovative ways to automate tests, execute automated tests, communicate results, and involve cross-functional teams for root cause and resolution
• Learn and applies company engineering policies and practices

What Skills You Need

• 1 or more years experience working in the field
• 1 or more years experience in using software tools related to data analysis
• 1 or more years experience in product development process
• 1 or more years of understanding and applying engineering principles
• 1 or more years experience using computer aided design and/or engineering tools Effective communicator with teamwork experience
• Excellent technical writing & verbal communication skills
• Good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with PV&V data acquisition and analysis tools such as: National Instruments, eDAQs, nCode, Matlab, Morphee, ...
• Programmable Logic Controller experience
• Test Laboratory experience
• Experience with SAE J1939 CAN analysis
• Problem resolution skills and diagnostics experience
• Compact Utility Tractor product experience

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ag, etc...) or equivalent experience.
