Job summary

Jobtailor in Newport News, VA is seeking an engineer to design and improve mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. You will steer design activities and coordinate fabrication, installation, and repair to meet engineering specifications.

Collaborating with crossfunctional teams, you will manage upper level BOM releases, analyze customer proposals and manuals, and support field service and production troubleshooting to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
2 to 8 years of experience in an engineering capacity
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
Travel to customer or supplier sites domestically and internationally 10%

Responsibilities

Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems
Directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems
Works with crossfunctional teams involving core team members for important project decisions and actions
Organizes and ensures adherence to detailed product specifications
Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals
Supports fabrication and installation activities to ensure products conform to engineering design and customer specifications
Manages upper level BOMs releases and changes
Works with Factory Engineering team to define truck design concepts
Troubleshoots engineering issues both on the production floor and as support to field service
