Job summary

Hayes Performance Systems in Mequon, WI, is seeking a Product Engineer to design, develop, and improve high‑performance braking, suspension, and precision components. You’ll lead projects from concept to production, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to deliver cost‑effective, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 3–7 years of product engineering experience in manufacturing, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Inventor/Creo/AutoCAD), and a solid grasp of GD&T,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of product engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with product development, NPI, and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, documentation, and validation.
• Experience with CAD software: SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve products to meet customer and business requirements.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Lead NPI activities including prototyping, testing, validation, and production launch support.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost.
• Investigate product performance concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate engineering change requests and change orders.
• Support product testing and validation to meet requirements.
• Analyze production and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with suppliers on components, materials, and processes.
• Participate in cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
