Job summary

Terrific is hiring an engineer who thinks in products to build data platforms and monetization tooling. You will own data systems at scale, decide architecture, and ship production-grade pipelines with modern event models.

You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL on data pipelines using BigQuery and Pub/Sub, delivering value quickly and maintaining clear documentation for cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least five years building production data or backend systems.
• Experience owning something end to end, from decision to delivery.
• Clear written communication and fluency in English; ability to work across time zones.

Job description

• You'll write the roadmap, not inherit it, with access to first-party commerce data most ad platforms can't get.
• Build the first product that lets retailers and publishers monetize their own audiences with real transaction attribution.
• No ad server, no auction, no campaign model exists yet—you decide what goes on the blank page.

What You'll Build:

• A canonical event model covering video, live, polls, cart, and checkout with identity resolution and consent.
• Sponsored placements on existing inventory, and APIs for external buying platforms.
• Measurement and reconciliation that gives brand managers numbers they can trust without an analyst.

Who You Are:

• An engineer who thinks in products and has shipped data systems at real volume.
• Comfortable with Node.js, TypeScript, strong SQL, and event pipelines like BigQuery and Pub/Sub.
• You push back when requirements don't make sense and simplify scope to get real value to production faster.

What We're Looking For:
