Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Product Engineer to contribute to analog, mixed-signal and test development across automotive and industrial markets. You will collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Manufacturing and Reliability teams to drive new product introductions and optimize existing offerings.

The role focuses on bench evaluation, failure analysis, design-for-test, and scripting for test automation using Java, C++, Python and Perl.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering or related.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, their operation and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Development work in support of analog amplifiers, sensors, and signal processing for Automotive/Industrial markets.
  • Collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability.
  • Design bench evaluation PCBs and generate characterization programs for bench evaluations.
  • Perform evaluation, debug and characterization of ICs to meet product requirements.
  • Work with failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability/qualification issues.
  • Engage with process and package tech development for new product development.
  • Coordinate with global manufacturing to address quality, yield, and cost reductions.

As a Texas Instruments Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic team oriented environment with exposure to a variety of state-of-the art applications each day.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Development work in support of a broad range of analog amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor based analog front ends and application specific signal processing comprising of advanced Integrated Circuits that address Automotive and Industrial markets
  • Collaborate and work in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability in all aspects of new product development, production release to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Design bench evaluation PCBs (printed circuit boards) and generating characterizations programs for bench evaluations
  • Perform evaluation, debug and characterization of integrated circuits to ensure they meet the product requirement specifications and manufacturing requirements
  • Work with failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures
  • Work with process and package technology development to develop and qualify technologies for new product development
  • Work closely with the global manufacturing facilities to address customer specific product quality, yield management and cost reductions issues on mature products. Scope of work could include product spins and derivatives

This position offers a great opportunity to work on industry leading Radar mmWave sensor devices, targeted for broad applications in the automotive and industrial markets. In this role, you will be a contributing member of a cross functional team working on new and innovative DfT (Design-for-Test) techniques to drive low cost test solutions for Complex / Analog IPs for high volume production testing on roadmap ATE test platforms (Advantest, Teradyne). You will work on cutting edge CMOS process technology nodes, operating at mmWave frequencies (60GHz, 81GHz), targeting a wide breadth of product offerings from high performance and high cost to low power and low cost.

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering or related
  • 2+ year's of relevant engineering experience
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits their operation and analysis
Preferred qualifications:
  • Production test program and hardware development experience
  • ATE experience on V93K or equivalent (J750, VLCT, LTX, iFlex, etc.)
  • Knowledge and expertise across core disciplines of PE role (DfT, ATE HW, ATE SW, Characterization, Quality & Reliability, Failure Analysis, & RTM)
  • Knowledge of digital and analog test methods, high speed interfaces and RF analog
  • Extensive knowledge of statistics and tools to analyze large amounts of production test data and determine and set accurate tracer projects to improve yield and/or reduce test time(mBayse, SpotFire, TestWare, ParmDB, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting in Java, C++, Python, PERL, etc.
  • Revision control tools experience Subversion, Bitbucket, Git
  • Ability to work in a team setup comprising of other functional groups
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong problem solving, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Ability to multitask between projects and be able to maintain project schedules
  • Experience with integrated circuit and device failure analysis
