Job summary

Bolter is seeking a founding product engineer to own the full lifecycle—from rapid prototyping to production—across the agent-building experience, the workspace where people steer agents, and the applications those agents generate.

You’ll work directly with the GM in a lean team, tackling three core challenges: the agent runtime, the workspace with app generation, and production reliability to ship trustworthy agents.

Qualifications

• Track record shipping production software (founding or early-stage experience preferred).
• Strong TypeScript across the full stack; Go where it fits.
• Depth in LLm app design or AI reliability, real-time data infra, or dev tools.”
• Strong product instincts—link technical decisions to user outcomes and business impact.
• Comfort prototyping fast, then hardening for production (tests, edge cases, reliability).
• Interest in messaging/productivity and AI-enabled workflows.
• Ability to defend a position and adapt with evidence.
• Clear written technical communication is essential.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and scaling with a lean team.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap across three domains: runtimes, workspace, and apps.
• Make architecture calls with trade-offs on speed, reliability, and cost.
• Ship prototypes quickly and harden successful concepts for production.
• Use AI tools as a multiplier in a lean team.
• Recruit and shape the early engineering team as we scale.
• Stay close to the product and work with the GM to shape UX and infra.
