Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company is seeking talented college students for its 2027 summer internship program. The 12-week internship provides real-world, hands-on experience in product engineering and supports active collaboration with industry experts to solve real-world challenges.

Product Engineer Interns will contribute to continuous improvement, standard work development, lean conversion, and new product development within Energetics Operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills.
• Experience with CAD and hands-on experience using manufacturing tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures, and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist in the implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation, and process improvements.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.

Product Engineer Interns

Product Engineer Interns will work within our Energetics Operations in support of all aspects of product engineering including, but not limited to:

• Continuous improvement
• Development of Standard Work packages
• Lean cell conversion and statistical process control implementation
• Manufacturing cell design
• New product development

Responsibilities/daily duties:

• Assist in solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures, and implementing corrective actions
• Assist in the Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation, and process improvements.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.

Requirements:

• Candidate pursuing an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills
• Experience with CAD and hands-on experience using manufacturing tools preferred
