JotPsych is hiring a Product Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Brooklyn Navy Yard. You will take rough product ideas and ship features end-to-end, from UI to backend to database, translating clinic workflows into smooth software.

You'll be paired with a mentor, have a defined project scope on day one, and participate in weekly 1:1s. Expect to write production code, review PRs, and ship to real clinicians while learning modern AI-powered product experiences.

Qualifications

CS student (junior or senior) graduating 2027 or 2028.
Able to work 40 hours per week in person at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for summer 2027.
Have shipped real software outside of class (personal projects, internships, etc.).
Proficient in at least one modern language (TypeScript/JavaScript/Python) and eager to learn the rest.
Ask good questions and translate rough ideas into working software.

Responsibilities

Take rough product ideas and ship end-to-end features (UI to backend to DB).
Pair with a mentor, define a clear project scope on day one, and participate in weekly check-ins.
Write production code, review PRs, and ship to real clinicians.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and clinicians to deliver user-facing improvements.
Build small internal tools and contribute to code quality through tests and refactors.

Product Engineer Intern

Brooklyn Navy Yard Summer 2027

JotPsych makes software for behavioral health clinicians. Our scribe has drafted more than 3.1 million patient notes. We build software designed for people to spend less time using it, and we're expanding from the note into billing, scheduling, e‑prescribing, and the rest of the work that keeps clinicians from their patients.

We are hiring a Product Engineer Intern for summer 2027 to ship real features in those products.

The role

You'll take rough product ideas and ship them end-to-end, UI to backend to database to prompt, translating messy clinic workflows into smooth, intuitive software.

We expect an intern to learn fast. We'll pair you with a mentor, set a clear project scope on day one, and run a weekly 1:1 on what you're learning. You'll write production code, review PRs, and ship to real clinicians.

What you'd work on

Feature delivery. Take a scoped feature from "what should this do?" through PR and into production, with support.
Product iteration. Partner with engineers, designers, and clinicians to ship user-facing improvements.
Integration. Connect frontend UI to backend services: APIs, async jobs, realtime updates.
Internal tooling. Build small tools that make our team and our clinics operate faster (admin views, QA utilities, eval helpers).
Engineering fundamentals. Tests, debugging, thoughtful refactors. Make the code base better than you found it.

What you'd learn

How a real product team ships every week.
How to reason about trade-offs: UX vs. reliability, scope vs. time.
How modern AI-powered product experiences work end-to-end (no prior LLM "expert" experience required).

Who you probably are

You're a junior or senior in CS or a related discipline, graduating in 2027 or 2028.
You can work 40 hours a week in person at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for summer 2027.
You've shipped real software outside of class: personal projects, hackathons, research, internships.
You write code in at least one modern language (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python) and want to learn the rest.
