A leading AI research lab seeks a Product Engineer to design and implement critical user-facing systems. This role emphasizes building structured, intuitive interfaces that evolve with adaptive intelligence. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript, and thrive in dynamic product development environments.
Craft the interface where adaptive systems become legible, structured, and trusted.
About Noumena
Noumena is an AI research lab and product company building toward AGI through narrow, adaptive intelligence. We design systems that evolve through use, reflecting and amplifying the judgment of expert users. By owning the full stack, from silicon to interface, we ensure intelligence and interaction evolve in lockstep.
We’re starting with expert software developers, but the platform we’re building will adapt to experts across fields : engineering, research, planning, and beyond.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Engineer to lead the design and implementation of our most critical user-facing systems : interfaces where real-time model behavior becomes structured, intuitive experience.
This is not frontend-as-polish. It’s frontend as product. You’ll work closely with model, infrastructure, and design leads to build tools where adaptive intelligence becomes actionable, visible, and trusted. You’ll define how these surfaces behave, not just how they look. Our users aren’t casual, they’re experts : engineers, researchers, and high-agency builders who demand clarity and precision.
TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, Node.js. Bonus points for experience across the stack with Python or Rust, and with model-adaptive or real-time UIs.

Why This Role Matters
This is the surface layer of Noumena’s intelligence engine, the space where capability becomes clarity. Every interaction you shape becomes a site of adaptation, trust, and refinement. You’re not just building a product, you’re defining how usable intelligence feels.
Team & Culture
We’re a small, senior team of researchers, engineers, and builders. We value deep ownership, curiosity, and deliberate thinking. We care about coherence, from silicon to syntax, and we move with quiet urgency.
We’re remote-flexible and invest in real-world time together, especially during pivotal build phases. We’re radically deliberate : open to experimentation, allergic to drift, and committed to systems that matter.
