Job summary

ATI is seeking a Product Engineer for its Specialty Materials unit based in Richburg, NC. You will oversee end-to-end product delivery, coordinating between customers, sales, process engineering, and operations, while driving continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes learning ATI processes, communicating results, and becoming the go-to metallurgical expert for Titanium and Specialty Steels. Travel to support customers and internal teams is required.

Qualifications

• BS in materials science, mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with Nickel, Titanium and/or Specialty Steels is preferred.
• Working knowledge of wrought processing (melting, forging, hot rolling, heat treatment, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and support sales teams by approving customer quotes.
• Create and implement items, recipes, mill instructions and other quality system documents for Titanium and Specialty products.
• Review deviations and non-conformances and determine root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Support certifications and testing of Titanium and Specialty Steel orders and shipments.
• Become a metallurgical expert in Titanium and Specialty Steel and the manufacturing process of these alloys.
• Lead CI initiatives to improve yield, quality, and cost in manufacturing.
• Provide technical support to sales, planning, operations, and quality.
• Communicate results to management, colleagues, and customers through reports and presentations.
• Maintain industry expertise and knowledge of developments in Titanium and Specialty Steel metallurgy.
