Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Product Engineer to release and develop cable assembly products, covering sustaining engineering and new product development. The role focuses on ensuring design validity, creating BOMs, and conducting tests with collaboration across internal disciplines.

The candidate will work on feasibility studies, prepare drawings, and advise on packaging and alternatives while supporting internal teams and external partners to meet product requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required or local equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of on-the-job experience in Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Familiarity with testing devices and ability to perform validation.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems and related production tools.
  • Experience with product validation/testing and engineering software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new products and adjust existing products by gathering data, defining requirements and creating a complete product specification and BOM.
  • Conduct feasibility studies (costs, technical aspects, materials, applicability) and decide on technical realization.
  • Prepare sketches and drawings and ensure design validity and release of design changes.
  • Perform tests and trials, analyze results and report development progress.
  • Provide cross-disciplinary product engineering support and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Overview

The Product Engineer is responsible to release products, development new, related products or adjust existing products. The position owns the support and provision of all aspects of Product Engineering, dedicated to cable assembly new product development as sustaining engineering.

Job Requirements
Develop new products and adjust existing products
  • Gather all relevant data, review in order to understand and determine the requirements and ensure completeness, apply this into a package of demands for the desired product
  • Do feasibility studies (costs, product technically, material technically, applicability)
  • Decide about the technical realization
  • Choose product designs, complying with internal rules according specification and purpose
  • Prepare sketches and drawings accordingly
  • Draw up product specifications and bill of materials accurately
  • Take responsibility for design validity and release of a design or alterations in the design
  • Perform possible problem analyses, tests and trials, implement tests and trials where necessary
  • Follow up and report on development progress
Other Duties And Interfaces With Internal Disciplines
  • Cross discipline product related advise and assistance for resolution of production concerns related to Product Engineering issues
  • Internal production concern response including deviation / concession approval
  • Discuss work implementation and problems with other involved parties
  • Support engineers with test and trial results and analysis, advise on packaging and possible alternatives and product specifications;
  • Provide technical consultancy and advise on assigned products for internal and external parties
  • Customer liaison at all levels on Product Engineering related enquiries
  • Vendor liaison at all levels as required
  • Dispose sample production
What Your Background Should Look Like
  • Bachelors degree in appropriate field or local equivalent
  • 1-3 years on the job experience in Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Distinct work practice with testing devices
  • Acquainted with CAD systems and if necessary production tools
  • Product validation and testing specification requirements
  • Acquainted with common software, including engineering software
  • Ability to work independently

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $70,000 - $87,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
