Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Product Engineer I on-site in Georgia to drive mechanical design and documentation for sales, engineering, and manufacturing. You will create drawings, perform calculations, and help ensure QA, ISO, ASME, and API compliance while expanding knowledge of design standards.

You will collaborate in a fast-paced, team-driven environment, use AutoCAD or SolidWorks, and contribute to design reviews and data management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1–5 years of mechanical design experience (internships counted).
  • Mechanical Design and Analysis.
  • Familiarity with ASME, ISO, and API compliance regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • CAD software experience: AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent initiative and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering by creating necessary documentation, drawings, calculations, etc.
  • Perform calculations and material selection to ensure QA and customer requirements.
  • Manage drawing/design database with new drawings and revisions.
  • Create and review technical drawings and specifications.
  • Perform simulations and calculations to test designs and validate docs.
  • Maintain ISO, ASME, API and QA requirements.
  • Continually expand knowledge of design quality standards and documentation.
  • Perform QA checks prior to shipment to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Contribute to other work-related tasks as needed by supervisor.

Job description

Position: Product Engineer I

Shift: On-site

Position Overview:

Under direction, can execute designs to assist in developing ideas necessary for sales, engineering, and manufacturing within the company. This includes producing safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective designs.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering efforts by creating all necessary documentation, calculations, drawings, designs, schematics, etc. as required
  • Perform necessary calculations and material selection to ensure compliance with quality assurance (QA), sales, and customer requirements
  • Manage drawing/design database – new drawings, calculators, design files, revisions, distribution, archiving, etc.
  • Create and review technical drawings, specifications
  • Perform and/or evaluate simulations, calculations, etc. to test and validate designs, documentation as required
  • Maintain and update, as needed, all ISO, ASME, API, and other QA requirements
  • Continual expansion of knowledge pertaining to engineering and design quality standards and necessary documentation within engineering department
  • Perform engineering and QA checks prior to shipment of product to ensure compliance with sales, engineering, and QA requirements
  • May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor.
Core Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of mechanical design experience, internship can be counted
  • Mechanical Design and Analysis
  • Familiarity with ASME, ISO, and API compliance regulations, codes, and standards, preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, preferred but not required
  • CAD Software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks 2016 or newer, preferred
  • Experience in MS Office Suite specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, technical documentation/support
  • Excellent initiative and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
