Job summary

Daily Instruments Corporation in Houston seeks a Product Engineer to join our design and production team. You will apply technical knowledge of SES Dept products and coordinate onsite with engineering, designers, procurement, and a special project team to design the best-fit solution for client applications.

You will ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time to meet customer and shipping goals, with hands-on involvement in production and engineering drawing approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or related field.
• 2-4 years' experience in engineering or manufacturing, field work or sales preferred.
• Experience in product design or manufacturing/production preferred.
• Project development and leadership skills essential.
• Experience with engineering software such as ACAD, Excel, ERP systems.
• Ability to work with various departments to facilitate project execution.
• Experience reviewing prototypes and product modifications.
• Excellent technical communication, verbal and written.
• Understanding of ASME codes and NDT processes.
• Understanding of GD&T and welding symbols.
• Self-driven to adapt to a fluid work environment and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer inquiries and technical questions requiring product design engineering.
• Assist quoting with technical evaluation of RFQ and coordinate with sales.
• Perform thermowell calculations to validate designs per ASME codes.
• Work with drafting to produce order-specific drawings and approve final drawings.
• Review customer drawings, specs, and requirements for technical compliance.
• Understand manufacturing processes to ensure custom products can be manufactured reliably.
• Occasionally create BOMs, routings, and machining instructions for production.
• Hands-on involvement with production/assembly to troubleshoot issues.
• Assist Field Service with installation projects as needed.
• Perform other duties to support company, production, and department goals.
