Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing floor support for all Commercial Air products, including training as needed.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Support customer requirements/requests.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop and manufacture new products and processes.
  • Provide operational/production support to the Engineering Team.
  • Create reports monitoring inventory levels and on-time delivery for key customers.
  • Lead transfer of products/processes between facilities.

The Role -

Amphenol Commercial Air is seeking a Product Engineerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The Product Engineerwill work closely with the Process Engineering Team to help improve and develop the various processes involved in manufacturing a connector. This person will bridge the gap between Operations and Engineering to ensure the Engineering Team has all the support needed for new product development and maintaining the integrity of standard product. This role will require the coordination between the Sidney, NY and Nogales, MX facilities to guarantee all specifications and customer requirements are followed.

The key responsibilities of the Product Engineerinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Process Engineering to provide manufacturing floor support for all Commercial Air products, including training when needed
  • Assist Process Engineering Team in creating and maintaining manufacturing work instructions
  • Continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
  • Support customer requirements/requests
  • Work closely with the Engineering Team to support the development and manufacture of new products
  • and processes
  • Help provide operational/production support to the Engineering Team
  • Create reports monitoring the inventory levels of product for key customers and tracking the on time delivery for all Commercial Air products
  • Lead the transfer of any product/process between facilities

Salary: $62,354- $85,000

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Product Engineerat Amphenol Commercial Air:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in manufacturing and the connector industry is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of MRP
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Computer usage from 1 to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
